Elizabeth Knechtel

Paralegal

Elizabeth James is a paralegal with MSB Law, supporting the firm’s work in business and corporate transactional matters. She brings experience in legal support and office management, along with a personal commitment to small businesses and the communities they serve.

Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Park University in May 2023, with a minor in Criminal Justice Administration and a certificate in Diversity and Social Justice.

While attending college, Elizabeth worked as a horseback riding instructor in the Kansas City area, building a roster of more than 50 students ranging in age from five to over 75. She also worked alongside experienced trainers to rehabilitate and train rescue horses for placement in permanent homes. These experiences shaped her appreciation for small and family-owned businesses and the meaningful work of nonprofit organizations.

Elizabeth began her legal career during her final year at Park University, joining a firm that represented employees in workers’ compensation and civil litigation matters. Over more than three years, she advanced from legal assistant to paralegal and office manager, taking on increasing responsibility for legal support and the firm’s daily operations.

Since joining MSB Law in June 2026, Elizabeth has brought that experience to supporting the firm’s attorneys and business clients. Her role connects her professional experience with her longstanding interest in helping business owners and organizations that contribute to their communities.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys singing in her church choir, riding her horse, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
